‘Sweetheart Shuffle’ at Kealakehe
The Waverider Triathlon Club will host 10K (with partner) or 5K (solo) runs at 7 a.m. Feb. 15 at Kealakehe High School.
Fees are $15 for singles and $25 for couples through Feb. 7, then $18 and $30 respectively. Proceeds benefit the club.

Parks and Recreation holding hoops league
The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation is holding a basketball league for 9- to 14-year-olds. Games are at 5 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays through March 13.
The league is looking for volunteer coaches and officials.
Registration forms are available between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the Kekuaokalani Gymnasium.

Hapuna tourney entry deadline today
The Inaugural Hapuna Big Game Golf Tournament will start at 7:30 a.m. Sunday with a four-person scramble, followed by lunch buffet and big-screen viewing of the Super Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled at 1:30 p.m.

Hawaii Racing Association survey
The Hawaii Racing Association is updating its membership list for 2014 to find out what types of motorsports Big Island residents would like to see at a proposed Kona Motorsport Park.
The HRA’s website shows potential uses for a 250-acre park and offers an online survey.

West Hawaii Hockey holding sign-ups
West Hawaii Hockey is holding sign-ups and practices for the 2014 season at 4:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the Old Kona Airport Park hockey rink.
The registration fee for first-year players is $25, which includes equipment provided by the league.
An adult league plays at 4:30 p.m. Fridays and Sundays.
